The Erosion Series uses the liquid properties of paint and solvent to continually wash away the surface, giving the final work the layered quality of a wet mount slide. My organic gestures that imitate cells, microorganisms and bodies grow from the images and components of dilapidated buildings. This is my vision of their emergence from a state of static futility. The earth continually reclaims and reconstitutes the elements that compose our bodies and our constructions. Beauty lies in this reunion and in the endless cycle of growth and decay.
